The World Veterans Championship will have a separate website and a separate application form. If you wish to compete in the World Championship, please do not register for the 34th Zagreb Powerade Marathon via the usual form (which opens on Sunday, March 1, 2026), but rather register using the World Championship application form,which will also open soon, and will be available on the Championship website. If you are over 35 years old, wish to compete in the 34th Zagreb Powerade Marathon and do not wish to compete in the World Championship, register for the 34th Zagreb Powerade Marathon via the usual form, available on the Marathon website.
There will be no announcements or medal awards in the veteran categories during the 34th Zagreb Powerade Marathon, but only the ranking according to the achieved result in the single absolute competition will be counted.
Veterans are all runners born before October 12, 1991. There are no performance standards for competing in the World Championships, but membership in the national veteran athletics association is a requirement. For Croatia, this is the Croatian Veteran Athletics Association – www.havu.hrFor all those who will compete in the World Championships, the preferential HAVU membership fee for 2026 is €15.00. Each competitor must register for the World Veterans Championships themselves, and the entry fee is €75.00. The registration will be additionally confirmed and final after verification of membership in the national veterans association for 2026.
At the World Veterans Championships, it is mandatory to compete in the national veterans team jersey. Registration for the World Championships is open until September 1; after that deadline, registration will not be possible, in accordance with the rules of World Masters Athletics.
Each competitor at the world championship will receive a participant's medal of the 34th Zagreb Powerade Marathon upon crossing the finish line, and the top three in each category will receive individual medals. As part of the world championship, medals were also awarded to the best national teams (the top three teams in their age category).
